Local search

Help relevant local customers understand where you operate, what you offer and how to contact you.

What is local search?

Local search is the work that helps nearby customers find you on Google Maps, in local results and in AI answers. It covers a complete Google Business Profile, consistent business details across the web, genuine reviews, and service and location pages that reflect where you really work.

What problem does local search solve?

When someone searches “electrician near me” or asks ChatGPT for a plumber in their suburb, Google and AI assistants pick from businesses they’re confident serve that area. They judge that from your Google Business Profile, your website, directory listings and reviews.

If your profile is half-filled, your address or hours differ between sites, or your website never says which suburbs you cover, they have less reason to show you. The business down the road with a complete profile and steady reviews gets the call.

What you get

Consistent business information and useful local service content grounded in real operations.

Pages for the areas you genuinely serve, each with something useful to say.

  • Reviews

A simple way to ask happy customers for Google reviews that follows Google’s rules.

  • Tracking

Calls, enquiries and Maps visibility measured, so you can see what changes.

Who local search suits

A good fit for

  • Trades and home services. Customers search by suburb and call whoever looks most trustworthy nearby.
  • Clinics and practices. Patients compare nearby options in Maps before they book.
  • Any business with a real service area. Including businesses that visit customers and have no shopfront.

Probably not the right fit if

  • You serve customers nationally with no local focus. Broader SEO will do more.
  • You want pages for suburbs you don’t really serve. They can do more harm than good.
  • You need calls this week. Google Ads will work faster.

How long does local search take to work?

Profile and listing fixes are often picked up within a few weeks. Steady gains in Maps usually come over two to six months, as reviews build and new pages are indexed. Foundation setup, which does the groundwork, usually takes three to four weeks.

How much does local search cost?

Start with the $950 AI & Search Visibility Audit, which checks your Google Business Profile and 10 main directories for matching details. Setup and monthly work are quoted on what the audit finds.

Questions

About local search

Should we create a page for every suburb?

Only where you genuinely serve an area and have something useful to say about it. Thin suburb pages written only for search engines rarely rank, and can make the whole site look less trustworthy.

Do reviews matter?

Yes. Genuine reviews are one of the strongest local signals, for Google and for AI assistants. We set up a simple way to ask customers for reviews that follows Google’s rules: no incentives, and no filtering out unhappy customers.

Do I need a shopfront to show up in Google Maps?

No. Businesses that visit customers can hide their address and list the areas they cover instead. Google still shows them in local results for those areas.

Why do our business details need to match everywhere?

Search engines and AI assistants cross-check your name, address or service area and contact details between sites. When they disagree, they’re less sure the listings are the same business, which weakens all of them.

Can you manage our Google Business Profile?

Yes. Foundation setup completes and tunes it, and monthly programmes include regular posts. You stay the owner of the profile.
