Performance & technical SEO
Fast pages, clean structure and schema, so search engines can crawl and understand every page.
What are performance and technical SEO in a website build?
Performance and technical SEO in a build means making a new website fast and easy for search engines to crawl from day one: quick pages on phones, clean addresses, titles and descriptions, a sitemap, structured data and, when you’re moving from an old site, redirects so the rankings you’ve earned come with you.
What problem does it solve?
A new website can look better than the old one and still lose traffic. Old addresses stop working, pages load slowly on phones, titles are left blank, and search engines take months to work out what changed. Owners usually find out when the enquiries drop.
Building performance and structure in from the start avoids the clean-up later. Every old page has a new home, every new page loads quickly and says clearly what it’s about, and indexing is checked as the site goes live.
What you get
A site that loads quickly, is easy to crawl and states clearly what each page is about, from launch day.
Performance & technical SEO
What’s included
Speed on phones
Images, fonts and scripts sized and loaded so pages are quick on mobile, where most visitors are.
Clean addresses and metadata
Readable URLs, titles and descriptions written for the searches you want to appear in.
Sitemap and indexing setup
A sitemap submitted to Google and Bing, and Search Console set up so you can see what’s indexed.
Business structured data
Schema that states who you are, what you offer and where you work.
Redirects from your old site
Old addresses mapped to their new homes, so links and rankings carry over.
Checks at launch
Redirects, indexing and speed checked as the new site goes live.
Who this suits
A good fit for
- New website builds. Getting it right at launch costs far less than fixing it after.
- Rebuilds and moves to a new platform. Where redirects decide whether you keep your rankings.
- Sites that have lost search traffic. A rebuild is the chance to fix the cause, not just the look.
Probably not the right fit if
- You’re keeping your current site and want it fixed. That’s technical SEO in our SEO & AEO service.
- You want ongoing content and local search work. That’s a monthly SEO & AEO programme.
- You expect a new site alone to rank you first. Technical foundations remove obstacles; content and reviews do the rest.
How it works
How it works
- 01
Audit
Speed, structure and indexing on the current site, if there is one.
- 02
Build it in
Performance and structure are part of the build, not a later fix.
- 03
Verify at launch
Redirects, sitemaps and indexing checked as the new site goes live.
How long does it add to a website build?
Nothing separate: it’s part of every build, inside the usual 3–5 weeks for a smaller site. Large moves with hundreds of old pages take longer to map, and we confirm that in the quote.
How much does performance and technical SEO cost?
The basics are included in every website we build: titles and descriptions, a sitemap, business structured data, speed work and redirects for up to 20 old pages. Larger moves are quoted on how many pages need mapping, with a fixed quote after a free 30-minute call.

Questions
About performance & technical SEO
Will we lose rankings when we move to a new site?
A migration always carries some risk. We reduce it by mapping every existing URL to its new home, keeping content worth keeping and checking indexing after launch.
Is this the same as an SEO programme?
This covers the technical foundations built into the site. Ongoing SEO and AEO, such as content and local search, is available separately.
How fast will the site be?
Fast enough to pass Google’s Core Web Vitals on phones, which is the measure that matters. We check it on real mobile conditions before launch.
What happens to our old Google listings?
Redirects send visitors and search engines from each old address to the right new page, and we watch Search Console after launch for anything that slips through.
Do you set up Google Search Console?
Yes, with the sitemap submitted, so you can see which pages are indexed and which searches you appear for.
